What We Believe
But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. John 20:31
WE BELIEVE that the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God. It speaks to all of the social issues of our day.
WE BELIEVE that there is one God who has revealed himself as Creator (God the Father), Redeemer (God the Son – Jesus Christ) and Sanctifier (God the Holy Spirit).
WE BELIEVE that everyone is born a sinner and must come to a personal relationship with God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved from an eternity in hell away from God’s love.
WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ – true God and true man – is the only way of salvation. – John 14:6
WE BELIEVE that all Christians are called to be salt and light in this dark world.
WE BELIEVE that the preaching of God’s Word should be the center of our worship services, and our goal is for our worship services to be simple, orderly, and joyful.
WE BELIEVE that every Christian has the Holy Spirit dwelling in him who enables him to understand and interpret the Scriptures, determine God’s will for his life and participate in fruitful Christian ministry to a needy world.
WE BELIEVE that the local congregation is the right form of the Kingdom of God on earth. We acknowledge no ecclesiastical authority or government above ourselves. We are subject only to the authority of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.
WE BELIEVE in and uphold the three Christian creeds which unite all Christians around the world: the Apostles’ Creed, Nicene Creed, and Athanasian Creed. We are also united with Lutherans around the world in upholding Luther’s Small Catechism and the Unaltered Augsburg Confession. We believe these are all faithful explanations of the Word of God.
