Missions Right Here in the UP
There are many people right outside our walls that are in need and we believe in supporting our local community here in the U.P. We have our own food pantry here at Hope. We also support Feeding America and the local care clinic to help young mothers and families. Our goal at Hope is to be a church that shines so bright, that people cannot help but see the light of Jesus in and through us. We support our local U.P community by the following ways.
HOPE FOOD PANTRY
We have our own food pantry here at the church. Once a month and at the community dinners we open our pantry to those that need a little extra help to get through the month with food. This ministry continues to grow, as the need in our local area is extensive. We are able to pray for our clients as they come, and love them in the Name of Jesus.
COMMUNITY BLOCK PARTY
Each year we throw a community block party at the end of the summer as an outreach to our neighbors. This is a fun event for families with food, games and prizes, along with passing out Bibles, and offering to pray for those in need of spiritual encouragement.
Feeding America
Feeding America West Michigan exists to ensure safe food is available to the hungry in our community. Hope has been asked to be a partner in this mission. Several members of Hope have been helping unload the trucks and distributing food to our hungry neighbors monthly. As the initial grant expires, we may be looking to continue these distributions in our community.
CARE CLINIC
The Care Clinic is a non-profit organization that gives women who are facing an unexpected pregnancy emotional, spiritual and material assistance. They offer their services at no charge and rely on donations to operate. They also offer new and used baby clothing, maternity clothing, and other items at no cost. As we know that every life is precious to the Father from the moment of conception, we want to stand in the gap for these hurting mothers and support them as well as their babies. Ways that we would support this ministry would include the LifeWalk, and the baby bottle collection.
